SMOJS conducts an applicant screening process, wherein perspective employees complete a background packet and a physical fitness test. The applicants have to meet certain criteria to be invited to take the physical exams. Those scoring at or above the designated criteria are invited to an oral interview. A complete background investigation will also be conducted upon completing the first phase. Based on the SMOJS selection criteria, successful candidates are ranked, and placed on an eligibility list. Upon completion, and an opening, the candidate is given a comprehensive physical and psychological examination. All applications are kept on file for 6 months.
Applicant MUST:
• P.O.S.T. License Eligible (if applicable)
• Possess valid driver’s license
• Pass extensive background check
• Pass physical examination/drug test
• Pass psychological examination

Picture of Head and Shoulders (Passport Style) will be needed for conducting a background investigation for applicant identification purpose.
